My Dirty Little (Virtual) Secret
I write posts on Aiming Low from time to time about simple ways to get more organized.
On one of those posts, someone wrote a very astute comment that went something to the effect of “I don’t trust people who don’t have a junk drawer.”
I think that’s right on the money, actually.
My theory is that the reason that some people are really good at some things is because they’re also bad at other things. I haven’t actually tested this theory and it could just be some lame attempt to justify my own mediocrity, but let’s assume that this is true to at least some extent.
So, I am really good at organizing space, paper clips, socks and events.
I am so organized, in fact, that certain crazy people you may know say weird crap like, “Hey, I’ve heard you’re really organized” upon meeting me for the very first time. You know who you are, crazy.
But, guess what? I have a dirty, disorganized secret, and in the interest of upholding Aiming Low principles, I’m going to divulge this imperfection.

Those who can’t, teach. Those who can’t teach blog about it.
There are many reasons – among which is my lack of a junk drawer – for which I am untrustworthy.
(No seriously; I don’t have one… my wife has so much crap that I can’t allow myself to have it.)
I do the same thing, especially at work!! It makes Crys crazy when she goes in to organize my g drive because its spread all over the place.
