Not that I’m *apologizing*…
It’s been almost a week since my last post? Really?
I have this French exam on Friday that I’ve been studying for, so that’s my excuse.
In the meantime, enjoy this very old but still very funny YouTube video. I was reminded of it while watching an episode of Intervention where for some reason they decided to subtitle this family who was speaking English with a heavy American Southern accent.
Enjoy.

Bonne chance!
I need subtitles sometimes. I slurmywordstogetherliketheyareapuzzle.
@Poppy, Merci. I need subtitles at the end of the day.
Hahahaha – that was funny!!
@Sybil Law, I love it when he gets upset that the other guy doesn’t have subtitles.
so funny! I am going to share on my wall too!!
@Deepa Agrawal, Heh… I thought it was funny… and I get SO irritated when they do that in real life to people who have “accents” as if they’re not speaking English, at all.
Tee hee, too funny! We get the same here in Norway – even though Norwegians understand Swedish perfectly, they still put subtitles on whenever a Swedish person is interviewed. When they interview someone with an extremely difficult Norwegian accent, however, they don’t include subtitles…
@Cruella Collett, Very interesting… I’m sure the Swedes don’t care for THAT at all…
I can count to twenty in French, if that helps you at all. Ooo…I can also go into great detail about the cat on the chair, the mouse under the table and the monkey in the tree. I, apparently, took the same beginner’s French course as Eddie Izzard.
@B.E. Earl, And, then, maybe you had coffee with the President of Burundi…I love that bit.
My favorite show on BBC America, back in the late 90s, was Ground Force. One of the landscapers was Tommy Walsh, a gent with a thick Hackney accent. I would have to subtitle every episode for my husband.
@Coal Miner’s Granddaughter, There have been times where I’ve turned on the captioning for British accents. Not, like, Bond accents, but you know…
I didn’t know you were studying.
@Miss Britt, Please. I’m always studying.
What are you taking French for? You live in FLORIDA. There are no French people in Florida.
@SciFi Dad, It’s true, there aren’t. I’m taking it because it’s a requisite for my graduate degree. A stupid, stupid requisite… une condition stupide.
Hhahahahahahha. Hilarious! “Obviously he’s comprehensible.” hehe
Hilarious video
Thank you for the update from your end!
I make it a point to check your website for blog enteries…even though I will get an email for it…I like logging onto the website for assurance! LOL!
Good luck on your exam!
I was going to say what Sci Fi Dad said…why not Spanish? But now I see that it is required.
I had never seen this before. So funny.
So how did that French test go?
