If Michael Jackson Were Punjabi…

I know everyone is sick of hearing about Michael Jackson.  So, I promise never, ever to bring him up ever again.  After today.

I saw this clip from “Britain’s Got Talent” several months ago, maybe even last year.  In retrospect, it captures one of the points I was trying to get across in this post.

Although you may be tempted to close this video after about a minute, make sure you keep watching. I think you’ll be surprised. Whether it’s pleasantly, I can’t guarantee.

What exactly was the talent? Dancing? Surprising? Moonwalking? Making idiot audience members scream?

    Faiqa Reply:

@Avitable, Hahahahaha! You’re a funny guy. I choose, “making idiot audience members scream.”

I wonder if MJ impersonators will start popping up all over the place. After Elvis died I remember reading that the number of Elvis impersonators was increasing so rapidly that if it didn’t slow down every man, woman, and child in the US would be an Elvis impersonator in just a few years.

    Faiqa Reply:

@delmer, That would be pretty scary. I hope they all go with normal 70s looking Michael not space alien vampiric Michael.

That was cool. We were all MJ impersonators as kids. I couldn’t moonwalk, but I had the cool Bad gloves. And you know, I can be cynical sometimes, but I can’t be a hater. Both of them look really happy when they hug at the end. I’m a fan of happy.

I totally want to be the punjabi guy in that video. Maybe i should find someone with MJ talents here and take him/her to ‘America’s got talent’…cause you know i can totally do the desi dance.

But you didn’t hear that from me. Shhh…

There’s a second video out there of these two doing a similar bit to Thriller. I think it was the final show or whatevs. Cool stuff. Am sucker for bhangra. I even taught my 2.5 year old how to stick out his pointer fingers. Unfortunately he looks more like Saturday Night Fever than Bhangra Blowout at the moment. Working on it.

PS. Don’t you love how husbands/boyfriends don’t want a blog of their own, yet they keep taking credit for some of its content? That happens in my life quite a lot: “you should put this on your blog”. Men.
