Resolution Sunday III: Thanks, honey.
I have a wonderful husband. No, really, he’s just amazing.
It’s easy to say thanks for the big stuff, but I think people need to hear thank you for the small stuff, too. I also think we deserve thank you’s for simply fulfilling our responsibilities and obligations. Just because you have to do something doesn’t mean you don’t deserve credit for doing it, you know?
Lately, I feel like I’m doing a poor job of showing my appreciation for my husband. So, this week’s resolution is to write a small note on a 3×5 index card every day to him to tell him how much I appreciate the things he’s done that day to make my life easier, happier, and just plain amazing. Why the handwritten note?
Documentation. Kidding. The note is because I think best on paper.
Check Up On Previous Resolution Sundays:
- Sunday Resolution II: Big fat failure. I never got around to going to the ATM to withdraw the cash. Who has time for that?
- Sunday Resolution I: Going strong, barring the occassional one busy day a week. I’ve actually surpassed the goal of 90, and am at about 120.

I love little handwritten notes.
I leave them in the middle of books at the library all the time for people to find. I wonder if it ever makes their day a little brighter.
Awwwwwww.
On one of those notes, tell him I said hi!
Haha
Seriously – way too sweet!! You guys are so cute… yeesh.
I think I’m going to follow your example and leave myself thank-you notes.
@Sarah: I used to find those notes all the time, I loved that! And I’m so happy to learn that it was *you* the whole time…
@Miss Britt: You’re in “awwww” of me. Cool.
@Sybil: I’ll tell him you said hi & he likes you so much, I’m sure it’ll be as special to him as the thank you’s.
@Avitable: That, as usual, made me laugh pretty hard.
My thanks to my wife each day is preparing her breakfast each and every morning (well, I do get a few breaks when she says “c’mon… let’s go to IHOP or Village Inn”)
Seriously, that’s pretty cool. Us guys like a note every so often.
@martymankins: Awww, that’s really sweet, it’s sort of like you start the whole day off with a reminder that you care about her… nice.
Okay, so I was somewhat living out my own Resolution Sundays based on yours….
What the hell happened? You wouldn’t happen to be a very busy woman w/ a lot on your plate whom might not have time to fully commit to Resolution Sunday, would you????
J/K I was just looking for the newest Sunday addition and was saddened at its absence….
